I’m a design researcher, strategist, and educator working on complex climate challenges.

Currently, I’m building the future of the materials, energy, and mobility industries at Newlab, and developing the next generation of critical product designers at Pratt Institute.

So what do I do?

Here are some skills I can bring to complex climate challenges:

(1) 
I design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research activities to understand complex systems. Through my work I uncover what's happening, why is it happening, and if there are any challenges or opportunities ... what can organizations and/or governments do about it.


(2)
Based on research insights, I envision systems, products, services, and/or experiences (generally speaking "solutions") that create desired outcomes (typically aligned to the UN's sustainable development goals).


(3)
I support organizations and governments develop, test and/or iterate on solutions. 


(4)
Lastly, I lead teams that can deliver with quality and excellence any of the three activities above.

Puerto Rico: Waste-to-X

A new strategic partnership aims to boost the circular economy innovation on the island of Puerto Rico to convert unmanaged or landfilled items, such as sargassum seaweed, plastics and tires, into new products. The New York-based technology center, Newlab, and the island’s economic development organization, Invest Puerto Rico, are recruiting entrepreneurs and early-stage companies to pilot innovative waste conversion solutions. The aim is to reduce landfill waste, unlock the potential for renewable life cycles of materials, such as end-of-life tires, waste plastics, and sargassum seaweed, and turn these items into valuable resources.

Project inSight

Project inSight was a collaboration between Johnson & Johnson and The Global Fund in Indonesia and the Philippines focused on deploying human centered insight activities to further understand why it can be difficult for Healthcare systems to identify and engage people experiencing Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB) before a formal diagnosis. By combining the Global Fund’s scale and reach and Johnson & Johnson’s unique expertise in consumer and patient insights, new strategies and policy recommendations were devised to amplify efforts to identify, engage and support people living with DR-TB, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
